Theme and Design
The Chicken Road 2 game is a sequel to the original Chicken Frenzy slot machine developed by Quickspin, a Swedish online gaming software company. The theme of the game revolves around Asian-style architecture, with symbols inspired by Far Eastern culture. Players are transported to an intricate network of pathways, roads, Chicken Road 2 review and bridges set amidst lush greenery and ancient structures. The design is both colorful and vibrant, incorporating animated elements that enhance gameplay.
Symbols and Payouts
The game features a 5×3 grid layout, displaying ten symbols on the reels at any given time. These symbols include:
- Standard paying symbols: depicted as animals, plants, and other Asian-inspired objects (e.g., catfish, lotus flowers)
- High-paying symbols:
- Tiger (highest payer): up to 10x total bet
- Dragon: up to 8x total bet
- Phoenix: up to 6x total bet
- Special symbols:
- Wild symbol: represented by a blue dragon and substitutes for all standard paying symbols, except scatters
- Scatter symbol: a red dragon’s head that triggers free spins
Payouts are calculated based on the number of identical symbols landing in combination, from left to right, starting with the first reel. The payout table is clear and accessible within the game.
Wilds and Scatters
The Wild Dragon substitutes for all standard paying symbols except scatters, allowing players to create more winning combinations. While wild dragon appears often on reels two through five during normal gameplay, its frequency increases in free spins mode (see section on Bonus Features).
Scatter Red Dragon triggers 10, 20, or 30 free spins depending on the number of scattered symbols landing at once: three scatters award 10 free spins; four reward 20; and five grant an impressive 30. Free Spins can be retriggered during bonus games by getting additional scatter combinations.
Bonus Features
One significant addition to Chicken Road 2 is the Wheel Bonus, triggered when a wheel symbol lands on reels two, three, or four. The player then has a chance to activate one of five different features:
- Wild Multiplier : increases wild dragon’s frequency during free spins by up to x5.
- Stacking Wilds : enables stacked wild dragons appearing throughout the main game and free spins.
- Free Spins Bonus : grants an additional 10-30 extra free spins, depending on which level is activated.
- Bonus Game Feature : activates either a Money Trail bonus round (see below) or enters players into Free Spins mode with enhanced multipliers and higher payouts for standard paying symbols.
Money Trail and Lucky Pick Features
In the event of activating both Wheel Bonus features 3 & 5, an additional layer – called Money Trail becomes active. This interactive bonus rewards three randomly selected symbol combinations by allowing players to either add (or subtract) values from them before converting these winning combination payouts into a cash value.
Conversely, if only level five was activated during Wheel Bonus game round, this will initiate the ‘Lucky Pick’ feature which can give between 2x or up to 10 times more total stake for any single spin.
